From a Nurse-Using Coconut Oil as a Treatment For Eczema

Sometimes one has to resort to alternative, natural eczema treatment methods to get the best cure or results for their eczema problem. And often it’s a better choice, due to less exposure to drugs and chemical-laden products.
It should always be the first treatment to consider when you want to take the best care of your skin.
First of all, eczema and dermatitis are often referring to the same thing in the medical world. They cover a variety of inflammations of the most outer portion of the skin. There are three different, broad types of eczema.
The type of eczema depends on the cause and where it occurs on the body. The types are basically, allergies, rashes, and nutritional deficiencies. The eczemas include atopic, dyshidrotic and nummular eczema.
Naturally you’ll want to eliminate any internal cause of eczema as in non-contact allergies, rashes, and nutritional deficiencies.
For local causes of eczema such as contact dermatitis, you want to avoid having your skin come into contact with the offending item.
It could be jewelry, perfumes, chemicals in any cosmetics, shellac in mascara, lipstick, nickel, lotions, soaps, fabric softener sheets, pesticides from contact around the mouth, latex gloves, etc.
I’m assuming here that you already have a diagnosis of eczema.
The best thing I’ve found to heal eczema is extra virgin coconut oil. It works better than eczema creams, which are usually chemical-laden products, whether for babies, teens or adults.
Make sure you’re working on eliminating the cause of your eczema, whether internal or external, which we won’t go into here.
Extra virgin coconut oil has helped many I know to help heal the skin. Ultimately, of course, the immune system and body do the healing if you were to do nothing, but coconut oil can speed up the process.
If you also have acne it’ll treat acne too and is better than most chemical acne products.
You want to make sure you get the extra virgin type that is not refined, bleached or deodorized. You can order it online.
Whole food-type markets are carrying more coconut oil, in pint and quart jars and especially the extra virgin coconut oil. Get the organic kind if you can.
Coconut oil cures many other skin conditions and skin disorders too, besides making the skin soft and smooth. I use it for everything including as a make-up remover and under my foundation. My skin is always soft, silky, smooth, and free of rashes, bumps, blemishes, blisters, etc.
It stops itching and flaking too.
Coconut oil is very inexpensive therefore, a good, cheap home remedy. Keep it around to treat any other skin problem. It’s actually healthy to eat too. It’s a plant saturated fat, not an animal saturated fat.
I add two big tablespoons to my smoothies, to help my skin from the inside out too, and have been doing so for many years.
Although we refer to it as coconut oil, it isn’t actually oil until the temperature climbs above 77 degrees. It can be applied when it is in the oil-state or non-oil state.
To apply the extra virgin coconut oil, massage it deep into the affected area. You can heat it if you like but you don’t have to. Depending on how severe the eczema is, apply it three or four times a day or more and especially at bedtime.
It’s important to keep the area moist with the oil. You may have to apply a loose bandage to your skin, soaked with the oil. If the eczema is on your hands, you’ll have to apply it even more often.
Also you can expose the area to direct sunlight for 20 minutes or so each day. You’ll get your daily dose of vitamin D that way too.
Many have used coconut oil as a treatment to cure or heal their eczema or their baby’s eczema.
It just takes motivation, a willingness to try it, and diligent application of coconut oil several times each day and at bedtime.
And your eczema and its symptoms, providing you’ve removed the cause, should go away. Continue using coconut oil and good clear skin will be your reward.
What To Do If Your Dog Eats Poison

While people are quite used to having a bout or two with food poisoning, not very many people think about what to do if their dog is poisoned. Just as a baby, toddler or child can get ingest something poisonous, so can a dog. If your dog does this, it will be up to you to save his life.
The most major cause of poison to a dog is chocolate. It is not an “old wives tale” that chocolate is a poison to a dog. However, a dog would need to eat a huge amount of chocolate to be affected. In any case, you would bring your dog to the vet if he or she ate chocolate.
There are other elements that can actually kill your dog and kill him quickly. You must be able to react quickly. While it might sound strange that a dog would even go near rat or mouse poison, some curious dogs will do this. The affect is horrible. If you do not get your dog to the vet ASAP, he may die. Symptoms of this type of poisoning is bleeding. The dog will bleed from all orifices: the mouth, nose, anus and even eyes. If not treated, your dog will bleed to death.
Plants can be poisonous and a curious dog may decide to chew on the leaves. It is a good idea to keep all plants out of reach of your dog and if you do see that your dog ate some leaves, bring the plant and your dog to the vet right away.
Anything that is a poison to you is a poison to your dog. Therefore, detergent, soap, cleaners, bleach, shampoo, etc can all possibly kill your dog. If your dog actually ingests anything of this sort, you must read the bottle and do the same action that is recommended if a person was poisoned. The dog may need to be made to vomit. You can save your dog’s life by sticking your fingers down his throat to make him gag and throw up. You can also use a toothbrush. Whether or not you can make him vomit, if recommended, you must bring him to the vet as fast as possible.
To prevent this, place anything that can be a poison high on shelves where your dog can not reach it. You may not think this type of event can happen, but it can and it does. Make your home safe for your best friend.
Fifteen Advertising and Promotional Ideas

Every successful company uses some sort of promotion to influence certain audiences, usually customers or prospects, by informing or persuading them. Reasons for promoting a business include: increasing visibility; adding credibility to you or your company; enhancing or improving your image and bringing in new business. The following cost-effective, easy-to-execute ideas have the power to increase sales in a way that conventional advertising cannot. The key is to find the methods that are appropriate for your business, marketplace and professional style.
1. Contests
As one example, a cookware store decided to sponsor cooking contests. After sending out a press release announcing a competition for the best cookie or chocolate cake, a mailing went out to the store’s customers soliciting entries. Food editors, professional chefs and cooking teachers were invited to be judges. Both the winners and the winning recipes were publicized. Essay and design contests are also possibilities, such as a furniture store establishing a prize for student furniture design. Pie-eating, pancake-flipping, oyster-shucking and grape-stomping contests make sense for restaurants. Dentists can hold smile contests, while video rental stores can stage movie trivia quizzes.
2. Newsletters
Another good way to promote, particularly for brokers, banks and business consultants, is through newsletters. Newsletter articles demonstrate how much you know about your field and do so in a low-key, informative way. They also help keep your company high in the consciousness of your prospects.
3. Demonstrations
Demonstrations are an option to attract people to your place of business, to show them how to best use your product and to establish your credibility. A retail-wholesale fish outlet holds cooking demonstrations twice a week, featuring a different restaurant chef each time and attracting substantial crowds. Recipe cards are even given out. Wallpaper demonstrations, fashion shows, gift wrapping, refinishing and computer demonstrations have all worked well for retailers who were selling products associated with them.
4. Seminars
Often more appropriate for business-to-business marketing, seminars are the commercial side of demonstrations. If you hold a seminar, follow these rules for success:
1. Schedule the event at a time that is convenient to most attendees.
2. Be specific in the invitation about when the event begins and ends, who will be there and what the agenda is.
3. Follow up the invitations with personal phone calls.
4. Charge for seminar entrance to give it a higher perceived value.
5. Follow up after the event to get people’s reactions.
5. Premiums
Also called an advertising specialty, a premium is a gift of some kind that reminds your customer of you and your service. There are thousands of premiums from which you can choose: key chains, coffee mugs, refrigerator magnets, baseball caps, paperweights – just about anything that can be engraved, imprinted, silk-screened or embroidered with your company name and phone number.
6. Speeches
Depending on your topic and your market, you might want to speak before chambers of commerce, trade associations, parent groups, senior citizens or other local organizations.
7. Articles
Another possibility is to write an article for a trade journal, reprint it and mail it off to your friends, customers and prospects. Well-crafted articles position you as an expert and are a particularly good way to promote a consulting business.
8. Bonuses
If you have a restaurant, give away a glass of wine with dinner to introduce a new menu. If you sell to retailers, give them a display fixture with the order of a gross. If you sell office supplies, give away a new pen with a sizeable purchase. If you’re in the cosmetics business, offer customers a free sample blusher when they buy mascara and lipstick.
9. Coupons
For best results, the price break should be significant – at least 15 percent. Coupons are one of the least expensive ways to develop new trade and are an excellent tool for evaluating advertising. However, one theory holds that coupons draw people who only buy discount and never become regular customers, so be sure to monitor the results.
10. Donations
Donating your product or service to a charitable cause often results in positive exposure to community leaders, charity board members, PTAs and civic groups. While consumer products are desired most, many organizations also look for donations of professional service time. If you have a restaurant or a large meeting facility, consider hosting an event for a charitable organization. This strategy works best if volunteers for that charity are potential customers.
11. Samples
No matter what you do to promote your business, giving potential customers a sample is an excellent way to attract attention and make a positive impression. In many cases, it makes just as much sense to spend your marketing and advertising dollars on giving out your own products instead of buying advertisements – especially if cash is tight. The key is to give samples to the audience you want to reach (i.e., software packages to computer user groups or nutritious snacks to health-oriented consumers). In the food arena, where one taste is worth a thousand words, firms now exist that test market new products for large and small companies alike through in-store demonstrations. A good demonstration company not only keeps track of how much of your product was given away but also submits detailed reports on what people said about the product and how much of it was purchased.
12. Free Trials
If your product is too big or expensive to give away outright, why not offer a free trial to qualified customers? Try shipping it out to prospects with no strings attached. Most people will appreciate the opportunity to try the product, and many will like it enough to buy it.
13. Free Services
If you can’t afford to give away products, offering your services as a way of generating new business can also pay off. For example, if you own a retail clothing business, send out a flyer offering customers a free fashion consultation to draw them into the store.
14. Special Benefits, Rates or Notices
Smart organizations go out of their way to make customers feel important and appreciated. Frequent flyer clubs are the most pervasive example of loyalty-building benefits for customers only that are now being adapted by many kinds of businesses. Most software companies sell program updates to customers at discounted prices. And advance notices about sales or other changes or opportunities can help cement customer ties.
15. Say “Thanks”
One of the best ways to let customers know you value their business, and to simultaneously encourage their continued patronage, is also one of the easiest. It boils down to saying “thank you” in letters, mailers, surveys, statement stuffers, receipts and invoices, and in person.
Learning how to persuade and influence will make the difference between hoping for a better income and having a better income. Beware of the common mistakes presenters and persuaders commit that cause them to lose the deal.
Conclusion
Persuasion is the missing puzzle piece that will crack the code to dramatically increase your income, improve your relationships, and help you get what you want, when you want, and win friends for life. Ask yourself how much money and income you have lost because of your inability to persuade and influence. Think about it. Sure you’ve seen some success, but think of the times you couldn’t get it done. Has there ever been a time when you did not get your point across? Were you unable to convince someone to do something? Have you reached your full potential? Are you able to motivate yourself and others to achieve more and accomplish their goals? What about your relationships? Imagine being able to overcome objections before they happen, know what your prospect is thinking and feeling, feel more confident in your ability to persuade. Professional success, personal happiness, leadership potential, and income depend on the ability to persuade, influence, and motivate others.
Makeup Tips For Brown Eyes

While I don’t believe that there are set-in-stone makeup tips for brown eyes, I do know some people like to have a set of “rules” to help them out. This article is going to cover some very basic steps that women with brown eyes can follow. Keep in mind that variety is the spice of life, and if you really like a color there is no reason why you shouldn’t try it out. You may be surprised at how good it looks on you. In my experience, experimenting is all the fun. So, remember these are merely guidelines to help you choose colors when you’re standing there in front of 300 colors and have no idea where to start. Just because I don’t mention anything about a certain color does not automatically exclude it from the list.
Choosing An Eyeshadow
The most popular question I get is “what eyeshadow can I wear with my eye color?” Listen up, and I’ll tell you.
General makeup tips for brown eyes always include browns, beige and neutral tans. Grays and charcoals look good with this eye color, as do violet and lavender. You can mix it up with a lavendar and a violet.
Khaki and olive green are a great color combination. Browns with green highlights or copper highlights are always a fun option. Try copper and even gold. If your eyes have a tinge of green, or like mine are half green, choose green eyeshadows as well.
You’ll find that even though you’ve heard that you should never wear an eyeshadow the same color as your eyes, that brown shadow can look very good with brown eyes and green shadow can look very good with green eyes. Sometimes it’s a matter of finding the “right” shade. Brown eyeshadows are all pretty safe, so you don’t have to worry too much about those. Colors like purple, green and blue require a bit more testing.
Black is out, so don’t use it as an eyeshadow.
Keep trying until you find a color you like. You’ll know when it’s right- trust your instincts.
Colors To Avoid
Like I said, I hate to rule anything out, but makeup tips for brown eyes should include that certain pink and mauve eyeshadows can cause you to look swollen or puffy around your eyes. It isn’t true for all women or for all pinks, either. But if you’re certain you don’t want to risk it, avoid pinks. Mauves also fall into this category. It may be because women with brown eyes tend to have more yellow skintones making them warm complexioned and pinks and mauves are definitely cool colors. The blue in the pinks can react with the yellow of the skin producing an unattractive feature.
And while it isn’t specifically makeup tips for brown eyes, you may want to avoid blue eyeshadow too. There’s the misconception that blue eyeshadow is “out”, but like I said, it really depends on who’s wearing it. Playing it safe would include skipping this color.
Silvers are not a good color for brown eyes. They tend to cause a “washed out” look. Leave silver for blue eyes.
Eyeliner Colors
And now for the eyeliner colors. Brown eyes always should include dark brown and black eyeliner. These are very good choices for this eye color. Don’t line your black liner too thick, though. That’s passé. Racoon eyes are a big no-no.
If you’re trying to open small eyes, line with silver or white, especially the first third from the inside corner of your eyelid. Then finish with a dark brown.
Navy, forest green, violet and copper are also great eyeliner choices. Play around with the different colors and pick the ones you like best.
Head Shots and Portrait Sessions – What to Bring, What to Wear

If you’re getting professional headshots taken, or if you’re having a professional photographer do a portrait session for you, here are the things you might find useful to know in advance…
HOW TO PREPARE BEFORE YOUR SHOOT:
- Get a good night’s sleep the night before. This isn’t always the easiest thing to do, but it’s really important to try. The more rested you are, the better you’ll look.
- Drink plenty of water at least an hour or two before your session. Hydrated skin looks much healthier than dry skin. Try not to drink too much coffee that day and avoid eating greasy, salty or fatty foods for at least a day or two before your shoot.
- Apply moisturizer. Men as well as women should use this tip. Moisturizer prevents your face from looking dry and it gives your skin a fresh, smoother texture. Use a plain moisturizer without any color or shine in it. Be sure to do this before you apply any makeup or powder.
WHAT TO BRING:
1- A comb or brush and a light hair-spray. Heavy sprays and gels make your hair look unnatural and stiff, so something with a light hold is a better idea.
2- A light face powder (yes, also for men) and a powder applicator. This is to reduce any shine on your face that may build up during your shoot. Make sure the powder is a good match for your skin tone.
3 – A plain lip-balm. For men (or women who prefer not to wear much or any makeup), bring a lip-balm. Dry lips show up very badly in photos. A non-shiny, non-waxy, no-color lip-balm is essential! Avoid chapsticks and beeswax lip-balms, as they tend to leave a white residue.
4- If you normally wear makeup, bring it with you. Blush, concealer, eye-shadow, mascara, lipstick etc. Be sure to bring a few different shades of eyeshadow and lipstick, as some colors may not look as well on camera as others. Avoid anything with too much gloss or shine. In particular, don’t wear high gloss lipsticks or very shiny lipgloss. Also avoid any face creams, bronzers or blushes that contain any sort of shine or sparkle. These often look too unnatural and reflect too much light in photos.
5- Deodorant. If your session is indoors or in a studio, you can usually expect to be under warm lights for quite some time. You don’t want to have perspiration stains in your photos, so remember to apply an extra ‘layer’ of deodorant right before your session begins.
6- A toothbrush or dental floss. Just in case you have the remnants of your last meal stuck in your teeth!
7- Eyedrops. Sitting and not doing much blinking for any period of time, can be very irritating for your eyes. Especially if you’re in bright light of any kind. Red, watery or puffy eyes will ruin your photos, so having eyedrops with you is essential for your photo session. Chances are, you won’t need to use them, but it’s better to have them just in case you do.
WHAT TO WEAR
For headshots, it’s usual to have at least two or three different ‘looks’. These tend to be
1: Casual and informal.
2: Elegant and slightly formal.
3: Edgy and/or unusual. This means you should bring the following clothing choices:
1- Casual and informal clothes. A simple shirt (or sweater) and jeans, is always a good bet here. IMPORTANT: Do not wear shirts with logos, brand names or any obviously printed words on them. These draw the eye away from your face, which is the last thing you want in a head shot! Do not wear work-out clothing or sweats, although a plain hoodie is fine. Make sure your jeans are basic as well. No applique, no artfully splattered paint or bleach marks and if there are rips or holes, make sure they’re small and fairly unnoticeable.
2- Elegant and slightly formal clothes. A well tailored jacket and a well tailored shirt is a very good choice for men. For women, a fashionable, figure-flattering top, dressy sweater, nice trousers, or casual cocktail style of dress is a good choice.
If your headshots are for acting, online dating sites, etc., you don’t want look as if you’re going to a job interview. You do want to wear what you would for a nice dinner party or event. Dark colors are best for this look.
When you’re choosing what to wear, ask yourself whether you want your photos to look corporate or not. Women: If you don’t want a business-like look, don’t wear button-up shirts. Men: If you don’t want a business-like look, don’t wear a tie.
3- Edgy and unusual clothes. Particularly for actors, musicians and entertainers who have a unique look or play a broad range of performances of any kind. For this ‘look’, bring the clothes that define your particular style. If you are from a specific ethnic background and have traditional clothing (saris, kimonos, sarongs, etc.), bring those! If you prefer to dress in vintage clothing, bring your favorite vintage suit or dress. Whatever your style, bring the outfit, accessories and makeup that you feel really exemplifies your individuality.
As for what to wear for a portrait session, the range is a bit more broad. It depends entirely on what type of portraits you’re getting. However, the following rules will still apply…
A FEW BASIC RULES FOR ANY PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION:
1- Colors which look great on almost everybody: White, black, and greys are always a good choice. For color, choose earth-tones (reds and browns) and jewel-tones (turquoise and most blues). Certain pastels are also good: light blues, lavenders and pinks.
2- Colors to avoid: For most people, khakis, greens, oranges, dark purples and yellows are not flattering to the skin and should not be worn for photos. (However, if you are an exception to that rule, by all means, bring the colors that suit you best.)
3- Clothing choices to avoid: Large, bold prints, logos or patterns. Again, these draw the eye away from your face, which is not a good thing. You don’t want your outfit to dominate your photos. Don’t wear clothing that is too loose or too clingy. Very loose clothing and very tight clothing both have the effect of unflatteringly altering the shape of your body. Shiny fabrics should generally be avoided as well, anything with a lot of shine will reflect light and tends to overemphasize the figure.
4- Do not over-accessorize. Keep it simple. Too many extra visuals will detract from your face, which should be the only focal point in your pictures. If you have one particular piece of jewelery you’d like to wear, don’t wear any other pieces with it. A big, bold necklace can sometimes look really wonderful, but not if it’s also worn with big, bold earrings. Small, basic earrings, one or two simple rings, and no necklace are usually the best choice for women. Just a watch and one ring (if you wear any) is usually the best choice for men.
5- Heavy application of perfumes or body-sprays before your session is not a good idea. If you must wear a scent, wear much less than you normally would. Many people have allergies to scents, and you don’t want a photographer who is trying to take your photo through watering eyes and sneezing fits.
Although there are a lot of things to factor in here, they’re all quite simple. If you keep these tips in mind, you’re certain to look and feel your best for your professional photography shoot!
The Psychology of Why Women Cheat Better Than Men

Most books, articles and research ask the question, “Why men cheat, signs of cheating men and reasons men cheat. An overlooked question is who cheats better– men or women? I am proposing that not only do women cheat more than men; women cheat better than men which is why they are less likely to get caught. Typically, when a woman is caught cheating, she probably already had one foot out of the relationship. Many women use cheating as an emotional bridge to exit an unhappy relationship.
Women cheat better than men because most women are left-brain learners. Left-brain learners are people who master words, story-telling, verbal skills, details, rules, logical thinking, and organizational skills. Being a masterful liar requires someone who doesn’t leave a single detail to chance and is able to plan ahead for any future discrepancies in their alibi.
Girls learn to talk sooner than boys. Girls also use more words than boys. Women use three times more words than men in daily conversations. So when it comes to telling a believable lie, women have men beat hands down. When a woman is planning to cheat she will call her girlfriends to say that she was at their home, or they were out to dinner or shopping together. When men cheat they don’t typically call their male friends to lie for them in case their wife or girlfriend calls to check on their whereabouts. Generally speaking, most women don’t feel comfortable with their husband or boyfriend hanging around their male buddies because they already think that they are a bad influence on their partner and may encourage them to cheat.
So therefore, even if men decided to call their male friends as an alibi this would be an ineffective strategy because most women already view their husband’s or boyfriend’s male friends as liars and cheaters with no credibility. Additionally, men and women have different types of friendships which make it much easier and convenient for women to cheat. When men say that they are hanging with their male friends we assume that their social activities would include watching sports, playing sports or games or drinking in bars or clubs.
For example, it is socially acceptable for a woman to spend the night at a girlfriend’s home for no reason other than to watch chick flicks, eat chocolate, drink wine and polish their toenails. Women have very intimate friendships that allow them to bond in a way that is not culturally acceptable for heterosexual males. If a man said that he was going shopping for shoes and then to lunch with his male friend most people would consciously or sub- consciously question his sexual orientation and or the true nature of the “friendship.”
Women are better cheaters than men because they learn how to lie at an early age due to double standards in gender socialization in the home. In most families, parents are more lenient with their son’s curfew and rules about how to interact with the opposite sex than they are with their daughters. Usually parents don’t get upset when girls call their sons no matter how old their sons are. They don’t automatically assume that the friendship is sexual in nature. So boys don’t have to lie to their parents about why they are talking to girls on the telephone. Parents don’t typically demand to meet their son’s girlfriend before going on a first date. In fact, boys are conditioned not to bring a girl home unless he is emotionally serious about her. Otherwise he is allowed to simply date her without the stigma of being promiscuous until he finds the right girls who is “worthy” enough to bring home. Additionally, boys aren’t scolded for dressing too mature for their age.
On the other hand, most parents have strict rules regarding their daughters talking to boys on the phone and dating. Girls learn to lie to their parents when they are very young to simply talk to a boy on the phone even when there is no sexual chemistry or sexual nature to the friendship in grade school. Girls are not allowed to go on a date with a boy until he is scrutinized by her family even if she doesn’t like him very much. So in order to avoid the embarrassment of bringing home a guy that she is vaguely interested in to receive the third degree of questioning by her family; she learns the advantages of lying to her parents.
Girls learn that it is best to tell her parents that she is meeting her girlfriend at the mall, than deal with the invasive scrutiny about a boy that she is barely interested in; why she is wearing lip-gloss; or whether or not she is too young to wear mascara. Girls learn at an early age that the relationship rules in society are different for men and women and that it is imperative that she learns to fabricate believable stories that will maintain her virtue and honor, while providing her with the freedom that men take for granted.
Eyelash Extensions – My Experience Before, During and After Eyelash Extensions

I was born without a lot of body hair. I feel lucky; I am one of the few who have gotten away with not having to wax nor shave my legs EVER. On the downside, my eyebrows are thin and my eyelashes short, light and sparse like my eyebrows.
I don’t wear mascara. I found my lashes falling off along with mascara when it was time to clean off.
Upon my sister’s prodding, I decided to try lash extensions. I’ve seen other girls…. Oh, to have those long butterfly eyelashes!
The process:
The eyelash extensions came in three different lengths: Long, medium and natural. Because my own eyelashes are short to begin with, I went for the natural length. The whole procedure was long and tedious. Each individual eyelash extension had to be glued to my own and I had to keep my eyelids closed the entire time, trying my best not to move them, as any movement caused the just-glued-but-not-quite-set eyelash to become crooked. As far as any pain or discomfort, there was none, except for the smell of the glue, which wasn’t too bad. I was fidgety the whole time and I couldn’t contain my anticipation. After forty five minuets, which seemed more like two hours to me, the eyelash extension procedure was done. I looked in the mirror…OMG. Those are not my eyes! They are too sexy, too tantalizing! (OMG again!) I had to look long and hard in the mirror. I had long eyelashes! Not only that, but I looked like I had eyeliner on, too. My sister and I giggled and giggled like two teenagers. I walked out of that salon quite happily. I didn’t even take a single look at the leaflet that was handed to me, the “How To Care For” instructions of my new deliciously lush prolific eyelashes.
The maintenance:
My eyelids felt heavier. Why, of course. I soon discovered that fluttering longer lashes required getting used to. That night, when it was time to clean my face, I also realized two things upon reading my “Eyelash Extension Owner’s Manual”:
Rule #1. Avoid (or at least try to avoid) getting your eyelash extensions wet. Water and friction shortens their life span. (In theory, your eyelash extensions are supposed to last forty days, then maintenance to fix the few lashes that have fallen off.) I did my best to clean around my eyes with makeup remover. I soon realized that this whole business of not getting them wet was very unrealistic. In the end, wet them I did. I could not get around it.
Rule#2. No rubbing your new eyelashes. This one was tougher. I was a perpetual offender. I couldn’t help it. My eyelids itch, I rub. Longer eyelashes, more rubbing.
Oh well, they’re not supposed to last. If they come off, they come off. In all, my eyelash extensions which were supposed to last over five weeks lasted me three weeks. During that time, as the eyelash extensions gradually came unglued, I had sometimes wished that I had taken care of them better. I wished I hadn’t rubbed or gotten them wet so much. But during other times, when they made my eyelids itch, I couldn’t wait for all the eyelash extensions to come off that I pulled and unglued them prematurely.
Would I do it again? Probably not. Although I was happy with my eyelash extensions during the first two weeks, the week or so that followed after that was quite awkward as half of them had already come unglued. I would liken it to growing out a bad haircut. I’m also a fussy person and I could not keep from rubbing my eyes.
This is not to say that I have given up my quest for long sexy eyelashes. I do have my eyes on LATISSE, that prescription eyelash treatment that is supposed to grow them naturally thicker and longer. And then there is TALIKA and another similar product from Peter Thomas Roth that work much like Latisse except that they can be bought without prescription. I don’t give up. Onward with the good fight for BEAUTY!!
Makeup Tips For Blue Eyes

Makeup tips for blue eyes are pretty straightforward. The trick is to learn which colors look better on blue eyes, and start with those, and then branch out with the colors that you are personally drawn to. Women have a unique ability to choose colors that are complimentary to them. Just because colors are suggested doesn’t mean those are the only colors suitable for you to wear.
Colors For Blue Eyes
There are some colors that seem to be made for blue eyes. Icy pinks, silver, gold and violet all come to mind. You can expand your selection by also choosing taupe, gray, and other purples, like lavender.
If you want to add a little “oomph” to your makeup, try a bright blue instead. I know, I know. You’ve always heard bad things about blue eyeshadow. However, these makeup tips for blue eyes include bright blue eyeshadow because it will make your eyes really stand out. Try it and see what you think.
Also try turquoise, and if your eyes have green in them, mint green is a great choice. Bright pinks and fuschia are great choices as well. And if you really want to mix it up, try mixing black with another color. It will look striking and it usually best for nightwear.
Application Tips
Now, I wouldn’t give you makeup tips for blue eyes without giving you tips to apply them. If you’re already comfortable with your application you don’t need to read on. But if you think you might like some guidelines to help you, keep reading.
Here’s an example of a day look that you could do:
1.Take a silver shadow and apply it from your eyelashes to your eyebrow.
2.Then apply lavender from your eyelashes to just above the crease. Blend it well into the silver so you can’t see a distinct line.
3.Then take violet and apply it in a “v” from the middle of your eyelid to the outer corner. Blend very, very well. You want it to look like a gradual change of color, not distinct lines.

How to Choose Mascara – A Comparison Between Maybelline, Lancome, Clinique and Chanel

Hi, buddies, here I am to share my experiences in mascara. As I told you in my last article, I have been using cosmetics since 16 and the major popular brands. And in this article, I will tell you my suggestions on how to choose mascara that suits you the most.
Generally speaking, analyze before choose. You have to know your eyes well. Also you have to know what you want from the mascara. And the last thing is how the mascara performs. Only when you get these three things clear will you have a perfect appearance.
What’s your eyes’ shape?
Before making a decision, stand in front of the mirror and observe your eyes carefully. How are your eyes? Whether your eyes are big, small, single or double-eyelid, there’s some perfect mascara that suits you the best.
LancĂ´me Hypnosis mascara
It’s the most famous mascara in the world – I’m not exaggerating. It has the effects of both lengthening and thickening and it’s extremely black. Black is the most powerful color to make your eyes look bigger and darker. If you have dark eyes or dark hair, I recommend this to you. However, if your lashes are short or weak, I don’t suggest you use this mascara because it’s very thick and heavy, and thus your lashes can keep curly only for a very short time.
Maybelline mascara
Definitely it’s survived for the longest time in the world of cosmetics. It’s a steal brand but the price doesn’t mean everything. Any complaints will be so weak in front of their low prices. The only disadvantage is most Maybelline mascara smudges a little after several hours, but what can you say since the price is one tenth of those big brands? In my experience, Maybelline XXL is good enough.
Chanel mascara
Actually, I don’t recommend this. Yeah I must confess NO.5 is a good one but Chanel isn’t doing well on cosmetics. Most of their makeup products ONLY LOOK wonderful. I bought two pieces of mascara from Chanel but neither of them suits me. Lengthening? Just so-so. Thickening? Maybe ok. Curling? Oh no please don’t remind me of that word.
Clinique mascara
I like this. It’s a funny thing that from the beginning I didn’t like Clinique at all. To my surprise it does a good job in both lengthening and curling. No smudges, that’s a good girl. And it can be removed by warm water, which means you don’t have to buy a professional eye-lip makeup remover.
Ok, the time is limited and I will try to share more the next time. Hope this article will help you, my smart pretty girls.
